Bohemian Brew Pub

See Utah is not just about all the amazing places to see in Utah but also about the best places to find some delicious food! In Midvale, Utah there is the Brewery called Bohemian Brewery & Grill. If you want German food this is the place to go! Now I have never had German food but my husband lived in Germany for about 3 years and he said this is the closest place here that comes close to it. For our anniversary this year we went to this restaurant and  I ordered a Bavarian Brats and it was so delicious! The Bavarian Brats has two brats, sauerkraut, and potatoes. I normally love Brats with mustard and sauerkraut but the mustard sauce they put on this is amazing! It has a sweet spicy taste to it. The potatoes were even delicious. I normally do not like garlic mashed potatoes because they are spicy. But these potatoes looked like they were grilled with garlic seasoning. It was such a delicious combination.  If you live in Utah or just coming for a visit you have to at least try this place just once.

Spanish Fork Hot Pots

Utah has a lot to offer a variety of people. If you like the outdoors, Utah is the perfect place for you. You can go shooting, fishing, hiking, swimming/boating, among other things. I have been living here for about eight years and I am trying to explore all that Utah has to offer. I have been to Zion's national park, fishing in many different places including Utah Lake and the Provo River, Meadow hot pots, and many other outdoor adventures. Recently I went to the Spanish Fork hot pots. It was a lot of fun! There is always a diverse crowd up in the pots. This was my second time going, I have pics from the first time that I went there. It was dark when I got there both times, and so the quality of the pics aren't the greatest, but I will upload them so you guys can get an idea of what it looks like!! (I guess they get added above, so my pics from the Spanish Fork hot pots are above!)
The Spanish Fork hot pots are a great spot to go to and relax! It is one of natures hot tubs! There are multiple pots that people can enjoy there. In order to get there you have to hike approx. 2.5 miles. It is a mild hike so people of all ages and fitness levels are able to make it. The hike is definitely worth it! The first turn off that you get to has two main pots and some small waterfalls. Most of the pics that I took are of this lower area. The first tub that you reach will be a little cooler than the rest of the area. The water that is moving is a great place to enjoy as well. I have had friends that sit under them and find it soothing to have the water pound on their backs. The second tub which is a couple feet above the first tub is a lot hotter, but still reasonable. It is my favorite tub!!! Then if you go back to the main trail and walk up a few feet higher, there is a couple more pots up there and an awesome waterfall! I have a pic of the waterfall as well above. The pots up here are immensely hotter than the lower tubs. At times I would almost scald myself on the water. If you can tolerate the heat there pretty deep and there is a lot of space in them. I would recommend to everyone to try out and enjoy! Oh, as a precaution, sometimes people will go skinny dipping in them. So just beware when you go. If you go I would also recommend bringing water bottles and if your going at night a flashlight as well! I am also going to include directions on how to get there below!

Take I-15 south to the price/manti exit (exit 258). Take that exit approx. 11 miles east up the canyon. You will see a turn-off labeled Diamond Fork. Turn left here and follow this road 10 miles to the Three Forks trailhead on the right. The trailhead is well signed and easy to find. In the winter, this road can be snow packed and require 4-wheel drive, but under most conditions, it is accessible to all. The trailhead has a pit toilet and map, but does not allow camping.

Below I have included links to other sites that talk about these amazing hot springs!!

Will's Oktoberfest at Snowbird

I got invited by my good friend Annette to go to the 40th annual Oktoberfest at Snowbird Resort up Little Cottonwood Canyon this past Sunday, and although i was skeptical about going at first, had an AMAZING time! I had heard about the event several times, but never made the trek to find out what it was all about. I've been missing out on so much! We had not even gotten to the parking lot without enjoying what beauty Utah has to offer in the fall as the leaves on the trees start to change color and provide amazing scenery. Despite our hunger pangs, we drove slowly up the canyon taking pictures and commenting to each other which colors and groups of trees we liked the best.

We arrived just in time before our stomachs began to remind us how hungry we were. Everything on the menu looked delicious. We had a hard time deciding what to get. Bratwursts and apple strudel, Sausages and German chocolate cake, pretzel rolls and sour kraut. The best of the best. As we ate, we were entertained with a couple different bands playing traditional German music with yodeling, traditional attire, silly pants, and an all around great time.

From the food tent, we ventured around the grounds to see what else the festival had to offer.Beer, wine, and food tents lined the area with other local artists and vendors selling their goods. Numerous German and other European goods were being offered to show support and/or heritage. Hats, lederhosen, ties, pins, steins (fancy mugs), and much more were for sale.

On to the tram ride to 11,000 feet where the alphorn players would be performing. Although a little bit windy and chilly, it was well worth it. We could hear the echo throughout the surrounding canyons and it was awesome! The three of them played these twelve foot, wooden, tubes that cost about $4,000 each!

After the tram ride back down, we needed more food, despite what our brains and stomachs were telling us. I opted for the glazed and chocolate drizzled Belgian waffle. I want another one already. Annette went with the garlic cheese fries smothered in chili. Not a bad choice on her behalf. We shared our bounty around the same time it was time to leave. After almost five hours of enjoying the festival, we bid Snowbird "Auf Wiedersehen." (pronounced: owf VEE-der-say-en) or "Goodbye."

A few weeks ago my husband and I did a hike to Stewart Falls. That is one amazing hike. It is up Provo Canyon past Sundance. If you are looking for a nice hike for the morning or afternoon this is the one to do. It is about a three mile hike in and three miles hike out. Below our a couple of pictures from our hike. Thank you to  all our readers for following our blog, this all started as a digital marketing project for our class. At first we were debating what we all have in common to write about, since we all came from different backgrounds it was hard to agree on a topic; and one passion we all shared.

But we did have something in common, we did not grow up in Utah. We all grew up in different states and countries. We want to share our perspective coming from different places, how we adapted to this culture, our college life, daily life here in the Utah, etc.

Here are some quick introductions from everyone on our team:

Hi everyone! My name is Karin Petty. I am originally from Joplin, Missouri. I moved to Utah about 10 years ago because my father got a job in Utah. The culture from Joplin and Utah is night and day. It took me three to four years of living here before I really saw Utah as my home and adapted to it. I am a very open minded and an individualistic person.

Hey! My name is Kali Cochran. I am originally from St. Cloud, Minnesota. I moved to Utah when I was still in high school because my step dad got a job transfer. I was very pessimistic about moving and living in Utah. I remember that when I first got here I HATED the mountains. I think that it's because it was the biggest difference between Minnesota and Utah. I now love the Mountains!! Utah is definitely a different state, but it is also a fun state to live in.

Hola a todos! My name is Maria Jose Turitich. I am originally from Asuncion, Paraguay. I moved to Utah 5 years ago and it was a whole different culture and world. I came first to study english and it took me a while to get used to be here. But I am glad I decided to stay here for college, it brought me a different prospective about a lot things. I still not completely adjusted to Utah culture and there are a lot things I miss from my country, but I will agree utah has one of the best landscape I ever seen. Also, if you love outdoors this place will feet you the most.

Fashionably late as always, my name is Will Anderson. I grew up in the fantastic state of Alabama where the food is almost as good as the football and i love them both! I moved to Utah a little over 12 years ago. I did not have a specific reason in mind, but i knew i wanted to play in the snow and get the heck out of the south. I had a couple of friends here that helped me adapt and settle in. It was definitely a huge adjustment! There have been times when i could not stand this place and could not wait to leave, but have ultimately come to love it here and the beauty that surrounds it. The best thing about Utah is the outdoors. The activities and scenery are unmatched. Even though i have lived here so long, I will always claim the South as home. For now, this will be my beautiful home away from home.
